We have been running Fashion classes for a number of years now but have had A LOT of interest in costum e design for those children and young people where this is a particular pa ssion. So we listened and we've changed things up a bit!! We will introduc e dressmaking techniques used in costume design. We assume that participan ts have a basic level of sewing (ideally attending our beginner classes be fore joining this class). We take you through the full journey on how to m ake a costume piece (understanding and cutting the fabric to size\, select ing the fabric and altering it to suit the design). On the last session of the term we will open the session so that the children can showcase their piece to parents/guardians!
